Hello, I’m Shadrack.

I build software, grow coffee, and write about how systems work.

I work at Shamiri Institute — CTO since February 2026, a team of four. Before that I was Head of Technology at Ilara Health, and before that a software engineer at PayGo Energy: the apps ran in five countries, and I ported the OpenPAYGO token system to TypeScript. I studied Systems Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania (BSE, 2019).

Along the way we built ShamiriAI, a set of LLM tools we use internally, and a Swahili–English Whisper model fine-tuned on therapy audio. I’m a co-author on two 2026 papers, one in JMIR AI and one in JMIR Human Factors.

Away from the keyboard I grow coffee at Ol'Ochoy Coffee in Tinderet.

If you want to talk systems or coffee, email me at [email protected]. I try to reply.
